Inspired by the survivors of the 2023 earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, this meditative piece is full of symbols of strength and endurance. Once complete, the scene immediately reminded me of standing under the stone pergola in Airlie Gardens in Wilmington, NC. This place has a feeling of antiquity for me and serves as a reminder that life prevails.
